Mendocino Coast Hospital Auxiliary

We are a very active auxiliary of both Junior and Senior volunteers.

At the North Lobby Desk...

the senior volunteers greet incoming patients and visitors and direct them to their destination.

The Volunteers in the Patient Area...

assist the nurses, patients, and families in any way possible. They take care of flowers, deliver mail, run errands, deliver food trays and snacks, and transport patients. They also see that coffee is available for family and friends.

The Workshop...

is for volunteers who are interested in making craft items for the Gift Shop and fundraising Boutiques. In addition, tray favors are made for special holidays, and "hug me" pillows are made for surgery patients to calm the pain from coughing.

The Gift Shop...

is operated as a service for visitors, patients, and hospital employees. Gifts for patients, snacks and beautiful handmade items are sold. Proceeds are used for scholarships and hospital equipment.

Auxiliary volunteers are asked to give sixty hours per year in volunteer time. Most members give a lot more because of the enjoyment and fellowship. Cheerful, caring help is needed in all areas. Enrich your life with new experiences and new friends. We invite you to be a part of our team that is working to "make our hospital the very best it can be."
