Employees of the Quarter are honored at hospital
8/6/04

Bernardo Perez, Employee of the Quarter Spring 2004, and
Manfred Lemke, R.N., Employee of the Quarter Winter 2004.

On Friday, August 6, two MCDH employees were honored for their positive contributions to the hospital.   Both employees were nominated for recognition by their co-workers based on their service to patients, positive outlook, and can-do attitude.

Manfred Lemke, R.N., was awarded Employee of the Quarter for Winter 2004. Nominated by numerous colleagues, Manfred is recognized for his valuable contributions as an Operating Room Staff Nurse.   A member of the MCDH team since 1990, he is a very hard worker, conscientious, punctual and humorous.   Manfred is supportive of others and acts as a mentor to new and developing employees, and he puts the needs of the department and patients above his own.   He is held in high regard by physicians, hospital staff and patients.

Bernardo Perez was awarded Employee of the Quarter for Spring 2004.   Bernardo joined the MCDH kitchen staff in 1997 as a food service worker.   Since then, he has been bringing a smile to the patients and staff that he interacts with on a daily basis.   His nomination came from fellow employees who recognize his hard work, kindness and caring attitude.   January 19, 1999 was a proud day for Bernardo when he earned his U.S. Citizenship.

MCDH selects its Employee of the Quarter from nominations received from hospital employees, medical staff, volunteers and patients. Honorees are rewarded with their photo in the hall of fame and their name engraved on a plaque, a certificate, a check for $150, a prime parking space for a quarter, and are in the running for Employee of the Year award.
