MCDH Board President Charlene McAllister receives the
Neal O’Donel Browne Award from ACHD CEO Ralph Ferguson.
October 8, 2004 – The Association of California Healthcare Districts (ACHD) awarded Charlene McAllister, an elected Trustee of the Mendocino Coast Healthcare District (MCHCD), with the Neal O’Donel Browne Award. Ms. McAllister was selected from among the hundreds of elected Trustees overseeing the work of Health Care Districts throughout California. Currently, the District is in the process of constructing a new outpatient services center and materials handling building, remodeling the existing acute care hospital and expanding the parking lot.
The breadth of Ms. McAllister’s community involvement includes active leadership in the Mendocino County Juvenile Justice Commission, the Mendocino Coast Community Coordinating Council, the Tobacco Settlement Advisory Committee, the Community Foundation of Mendocino County, the League of Women Voters, the Mendocino Coast Audubon Society and the Mendocino Coast Hospital Foundation.
The Association of California Healthcare Districts is the industry association for Health Care Districts providing hospital care, skilled nursing care or diverse health and wellness services in their communities. ACHD provides leadership education, operations and communication support to District Members, and is a principal legislative advocate for the needs of public health care and medically underserved populations throughout California.
